OmniRoute is an open-source AI gateway that lets you route requests across 236+ LLM providers from a single endpoint. It is designed for developers who want to avoid vendor lock-in, reduce costs, and stop hitting rate limits mid-coding session.

The tool stacks free tiers from 90+ providers and applies RTK + Caveman compression to cut token usage by 15-95%. When one provider runs out of quota, OmniRoute switches to the next in milliseconds. It supports 17 routing strategies including cost-optimized, round-robin, and context-relay.

It runs locally via npm, Docker, or as a desktop app. The built-in MCP server exposes 95 tools across 30 scopes, and the A2A protocol support lets other agents drive the gateway programmatically.
