CrewAI is a Python framework for building multi-agent AI systems. You create agents with specific roles and goals, give them tools to work with, and coordinate them through sequential, parallel, or hierarchical workflows. The agents share memory and communicate results to each other.

The open-source framework is free to use and runs on your own infrastructure. You can connect it to any LLM provider, API, database, or local tool. The framework supports event-driven flows with state management, conditional logic, and branching.

The CrewAI cloud platform adds a visual builder, tracing and observability for every LLM call, role-based access control, and human-in-the-loop approval gates. It also includes a feature called Discovery that scans your existing workflows to recommend automation opportunities. Pricing for the platform requires contacting their sales team.
